
James A. Choate was born in 1967 on Offutt Air Force Base, Bellvue, Nebraska. He received his B.A. Degree in Psychology from Oklahoma State University in 1991, and his juris doctorate degree from the Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1995.
His practice areas include business law, civil litigation, contracts, property, construction, trial practice, appellate practice, estate planning, asset protection, wills and trusts, and probate. He is licensed to practice before the Oklahoma state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern and Western Districts of Oklahoma, the U.S. Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Tax Court. He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Seminole County Bar Association, J. Reuben Clark Law Society, BYU Management Society, and the Luther Bohannon

He is a member of the Seminole Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in church administration and youth programs, currently serving as Branch President. He has served with the Boy Scouts of America in various capacities, and is currently a Troop Committee Member. Former member of the Pleasant Grove School Board. Member of the American Gelbvieh Association, Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association and Seminole County Cattlemen's Association. He, his wife Angela, and their four children live on a small farm in Seminole.

George Edward Nelson was born September 26, 1949 in Omaha, Nebraska. He graduated from the University of South Florida in 1974, and from Oklahoma City University with a juris doctorate in 1978. He was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. He was also a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and National Bar Association. He was licensed to practice before the Oklahoma state courts, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Northern and Western Districts of Oklahoma, the United States Tax Courts, the United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War with the 101st Air Borne Division.
George practiced for more than twenty years in a solo or small firm practice. In 1986, he formed George Nelson, P.C., a professional corporation. George had a great passion for the practice of law. George died July 28, 2001 in an airplane crash in Lockesburg, Arkansas. Also killed were his wife, Suzanne Cowart Nelson, his son David Joseph Nelson, and his daughter, Mary Kate Nelson. The Nelson family were on their way to Florida for a long-awaited vacation. It is an honor to continue the firm he began.
