James A. Choate
James Austin Choate was born in 1967 on Offutt
Air Force Base, Bellvue, Nebraska. He graduated from Oklahoma State
University in 1991, and from the Oklahoma City University School
of Law with a doctorate in jurisprudence in 1995.
He is licensed to practice before the Oklahoma
state courts, the United States District Courts for the Eastern,
Northern and Western Districts of Oklahoma, the United States Tenth
Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court for
the Western District of Michigan. He is a member of the J. Reuben Clark Law
Society, the Luther Bohannon American Inn of Court XXIII, Oklahoma
Bar Association, the Oklahoma County Bar Association and the Seminole
County Bar Association. Published decisions include Ferrell
v. Prairie Intern. Trucks, Inc., 1997 OK 6, 935 P.2d 286, reh.
denied, Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. v. City of Oklahoma
City, 2001 OK CIV APP 25, 19 P.3d 331, cert. denied., and Seminole
Family Medicine Clinic v. Southern, 2005 OK CIV APP 46, 116 P.3d 191,
cert. denied.
He and his wife, Angela, have three children, Alyssa,
Jacob, and Benjamin, and live on a small farm in Seminole.
